Created in response to the Groundwork Gallery fifth annual artist in residency "Fluid Earth" that I was fortunate to be selected for.  My focus was coastal erosion, the displacement and deposition of land, as it separates, transforms, reforms and integrates.  I considered its impact on sense of place, identity and belonging for both land and people.  In this painting I wanted to give the feel of the tension between the solidity of chalk, and its fluidity as it moves in different ways.
