Riverside Arts Guide no 124
"Who knew you could find such magic in the middle of flat nowhere"
is a wonderful comment left by one of our visitors!
We're not quite in the middle of nowhere as we are part
of a trail of artists near Ely, so not only will you be able to see
the work of 6 artist makers here at Riverside Arts,
you could also visit several other studios very near by!
Riverside Arts is a group of artist makers exhibiting annually
as part of Cambridge Open Studios at
Rick Forward's New from Old furniture workshop in Little Ouse.
This year the artist makers exhibiting with Riverside Arts are
Caroline Forward, painter
Gordon Chesterman, letterpress printer
Ditty Dokter, tapestry weaver
Jeremy Peake, ceramicist
Julie Baker, painter
Amanda Earlam, painter
Visitors to our Open Studio on weekends 13/14th and 20/21st July
will find a wealth of
paintings, drawings and prints
many of which explore place, both Fenland and abroad, as well as people,
ceramics
tapestry weavings of the sky, land and water scapes in the Fens,
Netherlands and further afield
letterpress prints on a range of themes.
There will be demonstrations of spinning by Ditty Dokter,
gelli printing by Amanda Earlam,
and letterpress printing by Gordon Chesterman.
Homemade cakes and liquid refreshments will be on offer,
and there is easy parking in this beautiful riverside location.
We really look forward to welcoming you to our exhibition!
