Part of a series exploring graffiti and marks on the fabric of Ely Cathedral.  I am intrigued by the presence of people throughout the ages who have left their mark in one way or another on this beautiful building.  The scratched lines are reminiscent of the individual chisel lines where craftsmen have shaped each stone.  Painted in oils and cold wax, unframed, overall size 15 x 15cm.  This painting was exhibited as part of the OuseLife exhibition "After the Fall" at Ely Cathedral 27th April to 29th May 2022.
